Beginner’s Rock Climbing Course

Designed for those who want to learn about the climbing sport. This course is an introduction to the employment of equipment and techniques associated with rock climbing.

Requirements: Be at least 15 years old. In case of being a minor, the parents or legal guardian must authorize the activity.

Location:

We offer the course in the following locations:

  • Cuevas del Indio Recreational Park (Guairita).
  • El Paurario (Guarico state).

Duration:

  • Cuevas del Indio- Two days (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
  • Paurario – Two days (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Schedule:

We can offer the course any date you wish, as long as it has at least two participants (subject to our availability). You can view our courses calendar.

Capacity:

From 2 to 10 persons.

It contains:

  • An introductory talk.
  • Learn how to identify, use, and maintain basic rock climbing equipment.
  • Climbing terminology.
  • Basic climbing knots.
  • Learn to belay your climbing partner, using different belaying devices.
  • Basic climbing techniques (first steps).
  • Practice top rope climbing.
  • Rappel technique.
  • Self-belaying descents.

It Includes:

  • Specialized rock climbing guides.
  • Technical equipment (helmets, harnesses, ropes, etc).
  • Digital material (CD).
  • First aid kit.

Equipment needed:

  • Comfortable sportswear.
  • Comfortable sports shoes, preferably tight-fitting shoes (or climbing shoes).
  • Water bottle.
  • Lunch (In the Cuevas del Indio Recreational Park there is a kiosk where you can buy some food).

Transportation:

This is not included in the package. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the park.
