Trekking Turmero-Chuao (also known as the Cacao Route) is a path highly transited by Venezuelan and foreign excursionists due to the attractiveness that offers the Henri Pittier National Park, the population, and Chuao Beach. This path is one of the main way of communication with Chuao coastal town since road access does not exist, the only way to get there is through the coast by boat and other crafts. This trekking path goes across great part of the National Park's forest which allows direct contact with a voluminous variety of flora and fauna. Additionally, this path was used during the colony by merchants of cocoa beans and other foodstuffs.
